From the Arctic to Borneo

Lars Ostenfeld
Born in 1969. Director and photographer.

I have always been fascinated by nature stories, travel descriptions, and films about landscapes and the people who inhabit or use them. I may not be the bravest man on earth, but for the sake of my children and future generations, I am drawn to the most remote wilderness areas to find the most extreme nature and understand it alongside the best scientists.

From Africa’s red deserts and Borneo’s green rainforests to the Arctic’s white ice, I am curious to learn more about the unpredictable processes that shape our world. I don’t know how nature will change in the future, but I do know about cameras, lenses, and depth of field. That’s what I bring: my camera.

I tell stories through people and images. In addition to my films and TV series, I have published 15 books through Politikens Forlag, Alvilda, Carlsen, and DR, featuring my own photographs and texts.
